Ask Neev

Ask Neev is the assistant built into NEEV. Describe what you want in plain language and it builds it for you, then shows you exactly what it changed. It appears in four places:

WhereWhat it does
Orchestration page, AI Builder tabBuilds the route: Gateway Input, routing, which Projects run, and where results are delivered.
A Project canvas, AI Builder tabBuilds the conversion pipeline inside one Project, for example HL7 v2 to a FHIR Bundle.
Mapping page, Map with Neev panelExplains and changes field mappings, tests them, and applies them only after you confirm. See Mapping.
Queue, Neev analysisExplains why a message failed and what to change. See Queue.

Build a route on the Orchestration page

  1. Open Orchestration. The AI Builder tab is open on the right.
  2. Type what you need in Ask Neev and press Enter. Name the transport, the Project and the destination when you know them.
  3. Ask Neev reads the current route, plans the change, then saves it and loads it into the gateway, as Save does. Its reply says what it Removed and Added, shows the saved graph, and notes anything to check before production. The canvas updates on the left, with a card showing how confident Neev is in its build decisions.
  4. Check the steps, then test the route. To deliver to a real system, point it at a real destination.

A request that describes a whole route replaces what is on the canvas, so read the Removed list. If it removed something you need, ask Neev to put it back or rebuild it on the canvas.

Ask Neev built a three-step route from one sentence, saved it and loaded it into the gateway

If you have unsaved edits on the canvas, Ask Neev saves them before it reads your request, so it always works from what you see.

You can also ask it to test the saved route with a built-in sample message. A test never delivers to a destination and never changes what is live.

Only admins can save

Anyone with access can ask questions about the route. Only an organisation admin can have Ask Neev save it or load it into the gateway, which matches the Save button. Anyone else is told that organisation admin access is required, and nothing is saved.

Build a Project pipeline

  1. Open the Project and select the AI Builder tab.
  2. Check that the Healthcare switch beside the message box is on. New Projects start with it on. It selects the healthcare assistant, which knows HL7 v2, FHIR R4 and the NEEV transformers.
  3. Describe the conversion. Say in this project only if the route should stay as it is.
  4. Ask Neev adds the nodes and saves the Pipeline. Its reply lists each node with its output, explains what each step does, and notes anything left to check.

Ask Neev saved the Project pipeline: a Gateway Input and an HL7 to FHIR step that outputs a FHIR Bundle

Each Project ends in one output, for example a FHIR Bundle. That output is what the orchestration receives when it runs the Project as a Sub-workflow step.

To change a single field afterwards, use Mapping.

Example requests

WhereYou typeWhat happens
OrchestrationReceive HL7 ADT messages over HTTP, convert them to FHIR with the HL7 Parser 2 project, and deliver the result to the HAPI FHIR test receiverBuilds and saves the full route.
OrchestrationWhat does this canvas do? Do not change anything.Describes each step, including anything left unconnected. Nothing changes.
OrchestrationWhat does PID-3 map to?Explains that PID-3 becomes Patient.identifier, component by component, using the sample message in your Gateway Input. Nothing changes.
ProjectBuild the gateway_input to HL7 to FHIR pipeline in this project only. Do not change the orchestration.Builds the Project pipeline and leaves the route alone.
Say what must not change

Add Do not change anything to a question, or in this project only to a build request, and Ask Neev changes nothing beyond what you asked for.

When Ask Neev asks you a question

If a request is unclear, for example it does not say which feed or which destination, Ask Neev asks rather than guessing. Answer in the same box. It does not change anything until it has what it needs.

Start over

Ask Neev remembers the conversation so you can build in steps. To start fresh, select Clear History beside Send. On the Orchestration page it is the curved-arrow button. Confirm in the dialog. This clears the chat only. Your canvas, Pipelines and orchestration are not deleted.

Clear the history when you move on to a different task, or if an answer refers to a design you have since changed.
