Queue
The Queue (dead letter queue) holds messages the platform stopped trying to deliver after its retries ran out, or that a destination refused for good. Each one waits for someone to decide: send it again, or close it.
Open Monitor › Queue in the left sidebar.
The dead letter queue
Read the queue
- Waiting is how many entries need a decision. Oldest is how long the oldest one has waited.
- Sent again counts entries put through again, and how many were discarded.
- Most affected names the destination with the most entries, which is usually where to look first.
- Switch between Needs attention, Put through again, Discarded and All, or search by message ID.
Each entry shows when it failed, the message summary, the failure source (the destination or step that failed), the number of attempts, and the cause in plain English with what to do about it.
Ask Neev why it failed
Select Neev analysis under an entry's cause. The Orchestration page opens on that message's run, so you can see which step failed. Select Ask Neev to diagnose there; Ask Neev explains the failure and what to change.
The analysis is saved with the message. The entry then reads View Neev analysis and "Saved for this execution", so the next person sees the same explanation without asking again. Opening the queue never asks Ask Neev anything by itself.
Send a message again
Do this once the cause is fixed, for example when the receiving system is back online.
- Select Send again on the entry. For a step inside an orchestration, the button is Run again.
- Enter a Reason. It is recorded in the audit trail.
- Select Send again.
Sending a message again, with a reason
Send again sends the message that was already produced, unchanged. The pipeline does not run again. The entry moves to Put through again, and the new attempt appears on the message in Messages.
Tick several entries, or the box in the header, to send them again together with one reason.
Discard a message
When a message should not be delivered at all, for example a test sent to the wrong place, an admin can discard it with the bin icon and a reason. The message stays in Messages with its history; only the queue entry is closed.
Members and admins can send again. Only admins can discard, because it cannot be undone.
